Expressive Drawing - evaluation
Expressive drawing
For the expressive drawing unit we have been asked to explore mark making and a variety of expressive techniques working from direct observation, to look at the work of other artists that work expressively and produce a minimum of 3 exploratory studies demonstrating use of different media and approaches then producing a minimum of 4 finished drawings that show a real sense of progression in development and refinement.
Form this unit I have looked at different forms of expressive drawings swell as done some of my own which helped me understand what expressive means when it comes to drawing.
While doing the unit I was given access to multiple forms on media to create my work but I found myself draw to pen, pencil, ink and watercolour paint as a way of sticking to what I know and trying to focus on the expressive side of the task. In which I caused a problem as I didn't like using the other media.
if I where to change anything about the work i did it would have to be to use less of my favour medium as it was a bit of a hindrance when it came to picking the final pieces.
I believe the work I produce was less successful that I initially thought it was given time to look over the work I produced.
